In curating holiday deals for Tastylicious for the past few years, air purifiers have been my favorite product to research.
Why? Because the deals are the best. The biggest discounts. The best products on sale. It's a competitive little market and the manufacturers really tend to step it up.
Below I've listed the best Cyber Monday deals I've found on air purifiers so far this year. I've included everything from budget models for small apartments, to larger models for open plan spaces and offices.
Importantly, these are based on our own rankings of air purifiers in our tests against smoke, dust and dander. If I see a model that looks like a good deal, but I can't verify it's a good air purifier, I haven't included it on this list.
Without further ado, here's the list for 2022.
Table of Contents
#1 Best Cyber Monday Air Purifier Deal: Medify MA-15 Air Purifier
Medify air purifiers are exceptional. They use the more advanced H13 True HEPA filters. They run quietly and consistently and this year, this one is on sale for a massive discount.
Your coverage here is 160sq ft. That may seem small compared to the other options on our list, but it pays to remember what that coverage number means. It means it can clean the air in that sized room 4 times per hour. If your room is bigger, that doesn't mean the air purifier won't work, only that it won't deliver 4 full changes of air in 60 minutes.
Depending on the room and what you're doing in it, you may not need new air every 12 minutes. Say you're smoking in the room for an hour, or even just working in the room. You don't have a new source of air pollutant coming in for all 60 minutes. Once the air returns from its default state to having clean air, you probably won't dirty it up again every 12 minutes: Not unless you're cooking, or smoking consistently, or your pet is scratching itself and shedding non stop.
My point is: A small room air purifier like the Medify MA-15 is right for more people than you think.
And when you include the savings to be had, the equation looks even better. These are so cheap you could get 3 or 4 of them, spreading them through the most used rooms of your house, and purify the air well for a low cost.
#2: Better Coverage MUCH Cheaper: Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier
If you're willing to spend a little more because you have bigger rooms and need more power, the Winix 5500-2 is a long standing favorite with a big sale on right now.
You simply can't find a bad review (from a credible organization) of the Winix 5500-2 air purifier. For the (hardly extreme) bump up in price you take your Clean Air Delivery Rate from 140 to 360, meaning 360sq feet of space can be cleaned 4 times per hour. This is a great option if you have larger rooms, or you want to handle an open kitchen/dining or living/dining room with a single machine.
Unlike our #1 deal option, the Winix is rated by the US EPA's Energystar program and verified by AHAM, another rating agency for air cleaners.
And unlike our #1 option it has an auto mode with a sensor so it can change fan speeds as your air improves, lowering power consumption and cleaning your air more efficiently.
I could say more but the Winix 5500-2's enormous number of high customer ratings speak for themselves. When a machine like this is on sale, it's hard to pass up.
#2: Large Room, Small Price: Shark Air Purifier
If you're looking for a large room air purifier and you want really big savings? Take a look at the Shark HE601 Air Purifier.
There is a lot to like about the Shark HE601 air purifier.
While tall, it has a really slender design that makes it easy to nestle against a wall and not be obtrusive.
For this level of coverage, it's hard to find a quieter model: That means better for night time and/or childrens rooms. And with 1200sq ft coverage this really is the kind of air purifier you can set up in one place of the house and have it take care of multiple spaces (rather than constantly dragging it around the house to do its job).
With the remote control as a handy add on, and a massive price reduction, this one is hard to beat.
#4: Better Coverage Better Looking: Coway Mighty Air Purifier
I'll say it regretfully: Despite it's high performance, some people don't choose the Winix 5500-2 because of its appearance. Its aesthetic is more ... 90s corporate? And some people don't like the idea of that machine being visible in their living room 24 hours a day.
If that's you, I recommend the Coway Mighty Air Purifier: This is the only machine that is verifiably similar in performance to the Winix 5500-2... it just looks better.
When I say verifiably similar, I mean it quite literally. The Coway Mighty's Clean Air Delivery Rate is 361 sq ft. It has 4 stage filtration system instead of 3 (which won't make a noticeable difference in air quality for most people).
It also has the features of a sensor and auto mode, a timer, an air quality monitor light, and filters that are quite simple to replace.
By the numbers - and by the reviews - there is no telling these machines apart. The Coway Mighty looks better, and - while still being heavily discounted at the moment - for that, you'll pay a tiny fraction more.
#5: Best Splurge Blueair HealthProtect 7470 Air Purifier
If you want to clean rooms larger than 400sq ft? If you have an allergy sufferer in the family so clean air isn't a luxury but a necessity? It may be worth splurging for the Blueair HealthProtect, also offering a good discount this holiday
Here you not only get better room coverage (418sq ft newly cleaned every 12 minutes), you get premium features like voice control through your smart home devices, and a "Welcome Home" mode that can be programmed to only run once you enter the house again.
A standout feature of the Blueair HealthProtect 7470 is its energy efficiency. Verified by the US EPA's Energystar program this machine uses the same amount of electricity, even when on high speed, as an incandescent light bulb.
This is a large discount on an extremely high quality air purifier. If you do decide to splurge, you can consider it well justified.
#6 Another Small Room Option Afloia Home Air Purifier
This compact air purifier is discounted, then through a further coupon currently available (when you click the little green button on Amazon) discounted again... by another 40%!
While the discount is huge, this is far from a "cheap and cheerful" air purifier. This machine has a Clean Air Delivery Rate of 140, which is significantly higher than the same sized model from the more popular brand Levoit. This means it can clean a room of 269sq ft 4 times every hour.
It has the better (in our view) round design, so it's drawing in air from all sides before delivering the clean air out the top.
It operates quietly (as low as 22 decibels on low speed. This is about the quietest published noise level you'll see from any manufacturer) so it's great for sleep.
It also has a timer, and a night light (that can be programmed to 7 different colors, if you're into that kind of thing) so it's a great choice for kids bedrooms.
But in a way, this is all overkill. This price is so low that it would be worth it without any of those extras. You could even grab one of these for 2 or 3 different rooms and really have the whole place covered for a fraction of the usual cost.
A Final Few Options
If nothing above suited your needs I'm going to throw you 4 other choices for big deals on air purifiers I'd actually consider. Here they are, described briefly:
- The Levoit Core 400S is a great (Energystar verified) air purifier for large rooms that has a small, limited discount for the holidays.
- This MOOKA Air Purifier for small rooms is very well reviewed and ridiculously cheap with the further 20% off green coupon.
- At a higher price point, one of our favorite air purifiers, the Medify MA-40 Air Purifier offers medical grade air purification at a steep discount for the holiday season.

How to Choose the Right Purifier from the List
Because there are so many technical specs to consider, people tend to overcomplicate their decision to get an air purifier. Sticking to the options on this list, most people end up loving their machines. Besides the random product faults you read about in isolated reviews, (Almost always rectified by the manufacturers under the warranty) you'll only end up unhappy if you get it wrong on one of these two fronts.
#1 Room Size
The stated maximum room sizes on these machines is reasonably accurate, according to the balance of opinion from reviewers. I've stated the intended room sizes on each of the models listed above.
If your room is somewhere on the border size-wise (say 380 sq ft when the model says it covers 360sq ft) you won't notice the difference in purification. Don't worry about it.
#2 What You Most Want to Filter
The main categories are Pet Dander, Allergens, Mold, and Smells. Frustratingly, all the air purifiers claim they're great at filtering all of those things.
While there are minor differences between models for certain things (for example, the deodorization capability of the Coway Mighty Air Purifier above), for the most part, they're all doing the same job: That is, using activated carbon filters to help with odors and HEPA filters to remove dust, bacteria, and allergens.
A Note on Filters
Understand going in that all of these purifiers will require replacement filters in the future. That's just how they work. Companies like Levoit, with models like the Core 300 and Core 200s try to stand out by saying their replacement filters are cheaper than others, but in general, most brands replacement filters cost from $30 to $50, and only vary depending on the size of your machine.
A Note on These Deals
As the holiday season continues I'll try to keep this post up to date with the latest deals. I'll also adjust the list, bumping better deals to the top when I find them.
Want to do me a favor? Comment below about which model you bought so I can feel like this was worth the ridiculous amount of time I spent 🙂
All the best!
