Angela Johnson earned a BA in English from Carleton College and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from Oregon State University. She is also a registered dietitian and her year-long dietetic internship was supervised by the University of Northern Colorado. She worked in clinical practice as an RD for several years, and also loves the alone-at-the-desk time of research and writing.
Marilia Coutinho is a Brazilian researcher, university professor and technical consultant. She has majored in Biology (1985), holds a M.Sc. degree in Chemical Ecology (1989) and a Ph.D. in Sociology of Science (1994), all obtained at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She was a post-doctoral fellow at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (1997) and a visiting scholar at the University of Florida (1998-2000). She has peer-reviewed scientific papers on the sociology of the life sciences and also articles on physical activity, strength sports, body image, physical education and nutrition.
Melissa Waine holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Hons (I) in Molecular Biology, from UNSW in Sydney, Australia, and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). She has extensive experience in research and writing for pharmaceutical companies, healthcare communication agencies, not-for-profit organisations, start ups, research institutes, government bodies, universities and private individuals.
Michele Berman, MD, is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. She served as Staff Pediatrician at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri, and as Clinical Instructor at Georgetown University and George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr. Berman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a former Member of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia, and the Montgomery County Medical Society. Her awards include Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University and Omicron Delta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University’s National Leadership Society. HealthPlus Health Plan named her Outstanding Primary Care Physician, and she has been cited by Washingtonian Magazine as an Outstanding Washington Physician.
Nicolas Ferrara is a physical therapist from Long Island, New York. He graduated from Hofstra University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, and from Stony Brook University in 2016 with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He currently works in an outpatient facility specializing in orthopedic, neurological, and prosthetics rehab.
Sonja holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours, 1st class) degree from Melbourne University and a Graduate Certificate in Health Promotion from La Trobe University. Having a solid academic research history, she has previously worked for Melbourne University, Monash University, Austin Health and La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. She is a member of the Australasian Medical Writers Association (A.M.W.A.).
