The GoWISE 8-in-1 electric air fryer is one of the newer air fryers available on the market today: And make no mistake, it’s a beast.

It’s got a huge capacity, and a stack of features. It’s also made our Top 5 air purifiers list for a second year running.

In this review I’m going to highlight why the Gowise 8 in 1 is different to other fryers. I want to establish the (good) reasons why someone would be justified in choosing this machine over the other great options available.

What’s Interesting About the GoWISE USA GW22611 Air Fryer?

The GoWISE line of air fryers uses Rapid Air Circulation technology to provide a fried food result with little or no added oil. That’s the part they pretty much all do.

GoWISE USA 3.7-Quart Programmable 8-in-1 Air Fryer, GW22611

The unit circulates hot air in all directions around the ingredients to cook the food to perfection, all while you do other things to prepare your meal or even sit on the couch watching TV.

The GoWISE 8-in-1 electric air fryer (model: GoWISE USA GW22611) has a number of unique features, including digital, programmable cooking settings. You can choose from 8 presets, including “warm-up,” “chips,” “chicken,” “shrimp,” “steak,” “meat,” “cake,” and “fish.” Yes, that’s right, it will even bake a cake.

This is a big deal because many air fryers don’t have temperature control settings. You drop the thing in and it’s “one size fits all”. If you find that a particular thing gets over cooked or undercooked in those machines, there’s not much you can do except not cook them anymore.

Not the case with the Gowise. You can keep tweaking until you’ve got the perfect cook for basically whatever you put in it, meaning this is a great option for someone who’s planning to cook a wide variety of things with the machine… rather than just fried chicken 🙂

Which reminds me… It does more than just fry foods. It can also grill, roast, and bake. If you want to bake a cake, you can purchase a non-stick baking pan accessory that’s made just for your GoWISE Air Fryer.

More about the GoWISE 8-in-1:

Compared to other models on the market, the 8-in-1 is a mid-sized air fryer. It has a 3.7-quart capacity that can easily serve two people but may not be suitable for families or large groups.

The easy-to-use control panel features the previously discussed presets. Other touch control features include a cooking timer that times a cycle up to 30 minutes. And there’s a temperature control that is variable from 176ºF to 392ºF. This seems like an odd range, so it’s important to understand that the GoWISE temperature can be controlled in 7-degree increments within this range.

This airfryer contains a few special safety features that may be of interest to you. It has overheat protection as well as an automatic switch-off feature and an automatic standby mode for your safety and convenience.

The GoWISE air fryer is also smaller than a lot of other models and takes up less counterspace at only 9.5 by 9 by 12 inches. It uses 1,400 watts of power and is designed in the USA.

It includes a removable cooking basket and unit drawer that are both completely dishwasher-safe and easy to clean.

Last but not least, the GoWISE 8-in-1 comes in two colors, black or white, to suit any kitchen style.

What Do Reviews of the GW22611 Say?

A majority of users report great success and appreciation for their GoWISE 8-in-1 air fryers. Here’s what some people are saying:

One user was thrilled that he was able to make his famous homemade meatballs in only 20 minutes, while another user reported her kids were loving it because she could whip out the fried shrimp, French fries, nuggets, and fish sticks in 20 minutes. What a snacking machine!

Lots of people were happy that they could make their old standby fried foods without compromising their health, as it uses only a tiny amount of oil compared to traditional frying. “Like frying, but healthier.” Some users stated that they use their GoWISE Air Fryer daily.

A common theme among users was the fact that traditional frying usually makes the house smell bad, but that doesn’t happen when frying with the GoWISE Air Fryer.

One user reminded us that this model does not have a stirring paddle like some of other brands, so with some foods, you will need to pull out the drawer and shake or stir the food to get an even cooking. Another common theme was the need to experiment with cooking times to get the desired results.

Another user was pleased that the smaller size of the GoWISE 8-in-1 Air Fryer translates to faster cooking times. Lots of people were thrilled with just how easy it is to clean. Another big advantage is that you can use it instead of the oven during hot weather, keeping the oven from heating up the house.

A few people indicated that they had experienced peeling of the non-stick coating on the cooking pan. Still a few others were frustrated with the inability to adjust the controls to exact temperatures rather than incremental temperatures.

How Do You Use the GoWISE Air Fryer?

Using the GoWISE Air Fryer is very simple. Prepare your ingredients, then simply open the drawer and set the food into the cooking basket. If you want to remove the cooking basket first to fill it, you can do this as well, then place into the drawer. Push the drawer closed and set your timer and temperature, or choose one of the presets that matches your food.

How Do You Clean It?

Cleaning the GoWISE Air Fryer is also very easy. Remove the drawer and the cooking basket, and either hand-wash or place these in the dishwasher. Both are dishwasher-safe. When the unit is cool, you can wipe down the inside of the rest of it. The outside is always cool to the touch and can be wiped down with a damp cloth and then a dry cloth to remove spots.

Analysis: If you are looking for a smaller capacity, you might choose the GoWISE over the Power Air Fryer 5.3 quart or the Philips XL Air Fryer. The price will also be lower for the smaller air fryer.

Gowise Air Fryer Vs T-fal Actifry

These two models compare quite closely to one another.

The Gowise has historically been a little cheaper than the T-fal (prices do change however, so check Amazon for the latest) which helps. Even for the extra cash, you also don’t get as many adjustment settings for temperature with the T-fal.

Verdict: Is This Air Fryer for You?

The GoWISE 8-in-1 Air Fryer has a lot of advantages in the market to commend it. It is a smaller model than a lot of its competitors, thus taking up less counterspace. This air fryer seems best for people who wish to cook for one or two or for a small family, and people who want the versatility to be able to cook all their favorite fried dishes to perfection.

It is not suitable for stacked cooking as some of the other models may be. If you find that you are interested in a larger model, we suggest you see our review of the Philips XL Air Fryer.

That said, the advantages of owning a smaller air fryer include faster cooking times, lower profile, space in your kitchen, and the lower cost associated with a smaller machine. It also draws less power than larger models. And it has the available baking pan accessory, which makes it a bit more versatile than some of the competition.

We hope this article has given you the tools you need to compare air fryer models and to decide whether the GoWISE 8-in-1 electric air fryer is the right air fryer for you and your family.
