What is included in the BL660 Ninja pack?

Ninja makes over a dozen different blenders and food processors, so you need to check which model you are buying because each is different.

Here is what you get when you buy the Ninja professional blender BL660:

  • The base unit with Motor.
  • 1 XL 72 oz. capacity container. Need to create smoothies for the entire family? This is perfect for that.
  • 2 Professional Nutri Ninja cups with To Go Lids. Do you need drinks on the go? Are you a runner? This is what you need.

So, How powerful Is This Ninja blender?

1000 or 1100 Watt motor – the base unit contains a high powered 1000 or 1100 watt motor, which provides enough power for the unit to be a viable option for a juice bar or cafe, so it is certainly powerful enough for the home user.

What capacity are the Ninja 660 cups and pitchers?

Ninja Professional Countertop Blender with 1100-Watt Base, 72 Oz Total Crushing Pitcher and (2) 16 Oz Cups for Frozen Drinks and Smoothies (BL660), Gray

72oz capacity pitcher – this is a bit bigger than the pitchers you find on other blenders; they are typically around 54oz.

Ninja 160z single serve cups with lids – with this blender, you normally also have single serve cups unlike with the NINJA NJ660. You can use these to blend individual portions. They come with lids. That means that you can stick them in the fridge or take them to work.

How Long Does It Take to Blend With a Ninja BL660 Pro?

The Ninja’s six-blade system coupled with its powerful motor ensures super fast blending. A few customers have reported that blending various ingredients such as leafy vegetables and fruits can be done in a matter of seconds, 10 seconds with the small cup is probably overkill.

What Are Other Customers Saying About the Ninja BL660?

Screen-Shot-2015-03-27-at-20.05.13-copy-300x219-compressorDying to know what everyday users of this blenders have to say? I have compiled this part of my Ninja BL660 review by reading through dozens of user reviews across several sites and speaking to two friends who actually own this blender.

One of them was even kind enough to make me a crushed ice cocktail, (I love my job) to show me how quickly it dealt with crushed ice.

There were thousands of reviews for this blender across the web. Yet it still scored an average of 4 out of 5 or 8/9 out of 10 across all of the reviews I looked at.

Naturally, with thousands of reviews, there were some disappointed customers, but most seemed to have an unrealistic expectation of what is, after all, a mid-range priced blender. They seemed to be expecting the kind of performance you would get from a $900+ blender, which is crazy.

Anyway, here is what you need to know, the good and the bad points of the Ninja BL660 professional blender.

How Does It Compare With Other Models?

vs bl770

The Ninja Professional Blender (BL660) has a motor which uses 1,110 watts for its “total crushing technology.” Each comes with two 16 ounce cups with lids that let you take your drink with you. The BL770, by contrast uses 1,500 watts of power and holds a total of 72 ounces of liquid. It even comes with a food processing bowl that is great for making dough for a wide range of food types, including cookies and even bread.

The BL770 also comes with what is known as “vitamin extraction” technology. This is advertised as a way of pulling extra vitamins and minerals from the food that you blend. This makes it possible to enjoy making delicious drinks, and the on-the-go cups were a particularly nice addition. Both models are totally dishwasher safe, meaning you don’t have to worry about accidentally cutting yourself when trying to clean the sharp blending blades.

vs Mega Kitchen System

Next on the list is the Ninja Mega Kitchen System (model number BL771). This stacks up pretty well against the previous two. It has more power than the Ninja Professional Blender (which has 1,100 watts) and the same level of crushing power as the Ninja Mega System, possessing 1,500 watts of blending power. Though there’s not a major difference is between 1,500 and 1,100 watts, but the difference should be considered when choosing a model.

Like the Ninja Mega System, this one came with an eight-cup processing bowl and two professional “Nutri Ninja Cups” that were designed to extract extra vitamins and minerals from your food. Even better, this blender is capable of three different speeds and a pulse option that allows you to create a wide variety of blended foods, including smoothies with ice and even thick and creamy ice cream shakes.

vs bl810

So far, there haven’t been any real heavy differences between the blenders examined. The Ninja Professional Blender was a little less expensive than the others and still fairly powerful. The Ninja Ultima Blender (model number BL810) had the same amount of watts as the previous two models but actually had a little more horsepower (2.5). This made it the most powerful model yet, especially when compared to the BL660.

One thing that really separated this model from the others so far was its incredible variety of speeds. It came with 10-speed settings and the always important “pulse” option. This allows you to create very fine blends that basically liquefy your food to thick and chunky combinations. Making salsa with this blender is a lot of fun, especially when you use the freshest possible ingredients. Like similar models, it contained the Nutri Ninja Cups for vitamin and Nutrient extraction.

vs Nutribullet pro

The NutriBullet Pro 900 Hi-Speed Blender stands apart from its competitors by coming with nine different accessories. While it possesses only 900 watts of blending power, it contains nine different items including the high-torque power base, a 32-ounce cup for huge blends, a 24-ounce cup for on-the-go drinking, multiple lip rings for more accurate blending, the extractor blade for powerful blending, the to-go lid for each cup, the pocket Nutritionist booklet which helped guide you to better Nutritional choices, and a recipes book for multiple blends.

This variety of great items counteracted the rather low power of this model and made it a desirable one.

vs bl780

The Ninja BL780 is another model in the Ninja “Super Kitchen” Series. It comes with all the same features of the others in the line (like the BL770). The only differentiating feature is that the BL780 has a 1,200 watt motor. This places it as a “middle of the road” power range when compared to the other models. It delivers all the same performance, and most people will not be able to tell the difference between this model and others close to it.

It is not as readily available, so you will likely find older models at a discount. This can be a good way to save a few dollars if you do not need the latest and greatest model.

vs bl610

Taking a look at the Ninja Professional Blender (model number BL610) showed off a more powerful blender (1,000 watts) with a nice and sleek design. This was one of the most fashionable of all the blenders on this list, making it a great choice for those who want a modern and stylish kitchen.

The “total crushing” technology allows you to make drinks in a second, a nice option over the somewhat slower models featured on this list. Like a few others here, it contained dishwasher-safe parts that made it easy to clean. One thing that really sets this model apart is the safety lid that prevents the blade from spinning when the lid is open. This protects you and your children from the kind of accidental cuts that make blenders a safety concern in the kitchen.

vs bl830

Another example of a blender that is high-quality without standing out is the Ninja Ultima Blender Plus (model number BL830). Like the Ninja Mega System and the Ninja Professional System, this possessed 1,500 watts of blending power. It also had 2.5 horsepower, putting it at the top for most powerful blenders on this list.

The high-speed cyclonic technology created one of the smoothest and least noisy blends. With 10 different speeds (including the pulse) and the three pro-single serve cups with lids, this model does a lot of little things right. While many of the basic options it offers are available on other blenders, no other model so far combines high-powered blending with so many cool little options.

vs bl700

Moving on to the Ninja Kitchen System 1200 (BL700) shows just how interestingly different, yet similar, these models could be. While it possessed 1,100 watts of “professional performance power” (making it similar to the first model on this list), it also contained a 72-ounce extra large pitcher with a pour spout. This makes it a great choice for those who want to make a large number of smoothies to share with friends and family members during the warm summer.

The 40-ounce processing bowl gives you plenty of room to blend and create delicious cookie dough and other food items. It is dishwasher-safe with “smart speed” technology (which helps to automatically adjust the speed depending on the thickness of your blend). This blender offers a lot of excellent options without standing out heavily from the crowd. A great option for the price.

vs bl740

How about the Ninja Professional Blender and Nutri Ninja Cups (model number BL740)? How does it hold up against the previously mentioned models? It has the “Nutrient and vitamin extraction” power that seems to be standard on most of these models, as well as three different blending speeds.

This lets you blend many different types of materials, including ice, fruit, and even small chunks of meat. The included portable Ninja cups are another standard option that is nice to have. They help keep your drinks at the proper temperature and seal to prevent spilling. This makes them a great option for parents.

vs nj600

Last, but not least, is the Ninja Professional Blender (model number NJ600). Possessing a total crushing power output of 1,000 watts, this model is great for smoothies and blending together a variety of foods. The included 72-ounce blender jar is a great option that makes this another blender that is perfect for making large drinks for the whole family.

Everything can be washed in the dishwasher, making this easy to clean and fun to use. It comes with three different speeds and a one-year warranty that is perfect in case this model suffers from any kind of malfunction. With the included “inspiration guide,” this is a great starter blender and a fun little model that is perfect for in-home use or professionals who need fine-quality blends. Even it’s ice-crushing power is stellar.

vs Calphalon Blenders

Here you’ve got a truly difficult decision (… not like “who am I meant to be in life?” kind of difficult… but close). Calphalon blenders like the Auto-Speed are almost the same price, the same power, the same accessory set and the same jar size.

I’m tempted to make this decision on the basis of aesthetics and go with your personal preference. Personally I think the Calphalon models look a little more modern and less industrial. But if you think otherwise, I won’t argue!

vs Breville Blenders

A Breville blender like the Fresh & Furious is a fair competitor to the Ninja BL660. The main reason to get a Ninja is the versatility of having the same blender power your to-go smoothie cup and your big blender jar. There’s no “to go” cup with the Fresh & Furious, and if you downgrade to Breville’s Boss To Go Sport which gives you travel cups, you lose the big blender jug.

Picking the Ninja means losing a little power to the BFF, but for most blending tasks, most people won’t notice this. I say the BL660 wins this one as long as you’ll use those travel cups!

vs Oster Pro 1200

Dollar for dollar, we think the Oster Pro 1200 blender food processor combo beats the Ninja BL660 quite easily. It has an extra 100 watts of power. It has a food processor attachment to handle your salsas and guacamoles as well. The jug of the Oster may be slightly smaller in size, but if you’re ok with that, you can also some money on the Oster compared to the BL660.

Where can I find Ninja bl660 replacement parts and accessories? (cups, pitcher, blade)

The Nutri Ninja company is well-established in the home appliance market. So, you can be sure that there are many options for finding replacement parts if the need should arise. Many of these can be found through Amazon or other secondary vendors. You can also go right to the source and find accessories and other parts on Ninja’s website or by giving them a call.

First Off, What’s Good About It?

It does the lot – this blender really can make anything you want. It crushes, blends, purees, and does so in a controlled way. Many people use it to turn fruits and vegetables into thick juices that contain all of the nutrients. You can make cocktails, dips, sauces, smoothies, soups, juices and even homemade facemasks.

Large easy-pour pitcher – no explanation needed here the benefits are obvious.

Easy to clean – practically everyone said it was very easy to clean, especially the wide based version. You just add ¾ of a cup of water and a drop of detergent then pulse to clean the pitcher and blades.

Handy server cups – everyone raved about the 16oz server cups. Being able to make a small portion saves on waste, and they are great for taking to work or school because they have lids. The single serve cups seemed to blend better than the pitcher too.

Low price – hundreds of users many of whom had owned several other blenders saw the relatively low price as a big plus.

What’s not so good?

This blender has a couple of minor flaws. Here they are;

Not always smooth enough – some users said it did not blend smooth enough at least for their tastes. Only a few people made this point, but enough for me to feel that you needed to be aware of it.

Does not handle greens wellleafy greens seemed to be the main issue because the results were too pulpy, but this happens with other blenders too. Only the highest spec blenders really liquefy green smoothies. The single serve cups do a better job when it comes to green smoothies.

Customer service – again there was a mix of feedback re the experience people had with Ninja customer service, some felt it took too long to sort out issues although most people eventually to the help they were expecting.

The verdict: Should You Spend Your Money On a BL660?

Screen-Shot-2015-03-27-at-20.05.53-copy-249x300-compressorMy verdict is that this is a very good blender. It looks like it represents the best value for money and also has quite a lot included in the kit.
