What’s Interesting About The Omega 8008 Juicer?
For those who are familiar with the Omega 8000 lineup, you’ll appreciate the upgrades in the J8008. If this is your first time to own a masticating juicer, you’ll love the features even more.
Compared to the older models, the J8008 is now equipped with a stainless steel filter and a single Ultem auger which makes it stronger and more durable. Its maker claims that GE Ultem is 8x stronger than melamine (which was used in older models) so you can count on it to withstand abuse and frequent use. Plus, its housing is also BPA-free.
Like its predecessors, it’s a multi-purpose kitchen appliance. It has 6 different nozzles which will allow you to do other food preparation tasks like grinding coffee, extruding pasta, making baby food and nut butter, as well as mincing spices. Instead of buying several kitchen appliances to do all these different tasks, now you just need to buy 1!
Its slow processing speed of 80 RPM is also worth mentioning. Like many cold press juicers from this brand, it has a speed of 80 RPM which prevents oxidation and heat buildup. As a result, your juice will have a much longer shelf life (72 hours) if stored properly. Even after 2 days in the fridge, the taste and color of the juice won’t be altered – it will remain fresh.
This is great for those who plan on making large batches of healthy drinks in one go perhaps due to time constraints or just because it’s more convenient to do so.
Finally, this juicer is capable of processing leafy greens, wheatgrass, soft produce and hard veggies and fruits. It can even handle nuts and beans. The key is to slice your ingredients into smaller pieces so they can fit into the chute and avoid clogging.

What Do Reviews of The Omega 8008 Say?
The Omega 8008 juicer has gotten a lot of rave reviews online. On Amazon, it has an impressive rating with very few negative comments compared to similarly priced juicers.
One of the “pluses” that stood out when we analyzed the reviews is that the juice quality is really good with this Omega juicer. The customers who made this comment were either new to juicing or have upgraded to masticating juicers (from the centrifugal type).
There’s no foam in the juice and you can pretty much control how much pulp you get in your juice (this is mainly because of the sieve). They also mentioned that their juices taste great because the efficient way that the J8008 extracts the juice from the produce ensures that its original taste is retained.
Several customer reviews also mentioned that this machine is very easy to clean. Just remove the attachments and place them on the top rack of your dishwasher. Some parts may have some residue/pulp and you’ll need to use the brush that comes with your purchase, to remove them. They even added that handwashing the parts is also not a problem.
The long warranty (15 years), which seems to be the longest in the industry, was also pointed out by many. Moreover, a lot of reviewers agree that the J8008 is a workhorse that you can use every day for many years without worrying about it breaking down.
They also liked the fact that it’s very quiet. So even if you like to make juice in the morning while everyone else is still asleep, you’re not going to disturb anyone.
Now let’s talk about the complaints. For juicing fans everywhere, you know how important the size of the feed chute is, right? With older models like the BJ003 and BJ005, quite a few people complained about their teeny tiny chutes. You have to really cut your fruits and veggies into small pieces so they can go into the chute. Unfortunately, Omega has not addressed this issue for the J8008. It still has a narrow chute (1.5 inches) and it’s still getting negative feedback from users. Many complained that because they need to really cut their hard produce into 6s and 8s, it’s very time consuming and inconvenient.
How Does The Omega 8008 Compare?
Those who are interested in buying the 8008 are also curious about whether or not it’s actually better than the J8006, which was introduced to the market much earlier. They cost the same – so which one is better than the other?
Omega Juicer 8008 vs 8006
Right now the J8006 is the #1 bestseller on Amazon for masticating juicers but it doesn’t automatically mean it’s the better juicer. In fact, the 8008 has several upgrades. The juicing screen and funnel of the J8008 are larger compared to the J8006 so you get a higher yield for your juice. Secondly, the housing for the J8008 is already BPA-free while in the 8006, it’s not. The motor is also more powerful in the J8008 (2HP) compared to the J8006 (1.3HP).
So if you were to choose between the two, go for the J8008 because it’s newer and has some features that aren’t found in the J8006. The cost is the same and you get more for your money from the J8008. Now, if you currently own a J8006 and want to buy a new masticating juicer, don’t get the J8008. They are pretty much the same, with some minor upgrades. You’re better off getting the NC800 which has a larger tube (finally!!!) and 5 adjustable settings. But it does cost more than the J8008.
vs Omega NC800
If you do have more in your budget and you're up for getting some extra features, the Omega NC800 is also an excellent choice. Here you get a much larger feed chute (read: less prep time), more attachments, and the ability to make nut butter and baby food. Whether or not that justifies the increase in price depends on how much you'd actually use those things.
Where Can I Get Omega 8008 Replacement Parts?
For Omega 8008 parts, you may have to do some extra research online. Currently, the Omega Juicers website does not have any parts or accessories for this model, but they do have lots of parts available for all the other models in the 8000 series. You can check out eBay, Amazon and other trusted ecommerce sites for OEM parts.

Verdict: Is This Juicer For You?
It all boils down to what features you need in a juicer. If you’re looking for a juicer that can extract high amounts of nutrients in your produce, retain its taste, and has the ability to extract ALL the juice in everything you put inside it, then you need a masticating juicer.
But obviously, our decision-making process doesn’t end there. You still have to decide whether the J8008 is the one for you or if there are better alternatives.
Among the main complaints from customers is the narrow feeding chute which can really be time-consuming because you’d have to cut all your produce in small bits and pieces so they fit into the tube. If you can live with this, then you’ll be fine with the J8008. If not, you may want to consider other options like the NC800 or the NC900. They do cost more but if you’re a busy person then throwing in an extra $30-$50 to cut your prep time is only reasonable.
But getting the Omega J8008 is a great choice in spite of the small chute. It has proven to be a very efficient and dependable juicer, and you only have to read actual customer reviews to figure this out.
With the 8008, you get great tasting healthy juices every time and you can use it to extract leafy greens, wheat/barley, and soft and hard produce. It’s certainly a good option for anyone who is trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle – it’s affordable, reliable, and it does a wonderful job of juicing produce to ensure the highest yield and nutritional value in every drink.
